The CHASE Program (Community Honoring Adolescent Success in Education) provides educational support, leadership development, and wellness programming for youth and young adults with disabilities and special health care needs across Kansas.
Whether you’re a middle school student, high schooler, or young adult navigating the transition to adulthood, CHASE helps you build confidence, develop advocacy skills, and connect with peers who understand your journey.
What is CHASE?
CHASE (Community Honoring Adolescent Success in Education) is Families Together’s signature youth development program, serving youth and young adults ages 10-26 across Kansas. Through interactive workshops, mentorship, community events, and our virtual learning platform, CHASE empowers young people to:
- Build self-advocacy skills and learn their rights
- Develop positive self-talk and confidence
- Set SMART goals for education and career
- Connect with peers and adult mentors
- Explore interests through art, music, and leadership activities

Our virtual course brings the CHASE experience directly to you. Over 8 weeks, participants engage in interactive activities covering self-discovery, goal-setting, communication skills, and healthy relationships. Whether you’re in Kansas City, Wichita, or a rural community—we meet you where you are.

Creative Expression Through Art & Music
In partnership with Art As Mentorship, JAM is an interdisciplinary art and music program located at Mill Creek Campus in Olathe, Kansas. This unique program uses creative expression as a pathway to personal growth, teamwork, and self-discovery for youth participants.

CHASE hosts throughout the year across Kansas—from leadership conferences and networking events to recreational activities and youth summits. These gatherings give youth and young adults opportunities to build friendships, learn from mentors, and celebrate their achievements.

Who can participate in the CHASE Program?
The CHASE Program serves youth ages 10-18 enrolled in Kansas schools, as well as young adults ages 18-26 with disabilities or special health care needs. Parents and caregivers are also welcome to participate in family-focused programming.
How much does CHASE cost?
Nothing! All CHASE programming is free for Kansas families. The program is funded through grants and donations, allowing us to provide services at no cost to participants.
Where does CHASE programming take place?
CHASE offers both virtual and in-person options. Our 8-week virtual course is accessible from anywhere in Kansas. JAM (Just Arts & Music) is an in-person program held at Mill Creek Campus in Olathe, KS. We also host community events throughout the state.

Can parents/caregivers participate, or is this just for youth?
CHASE is designed primarily for youth and young adults, but we welcome parents and caregivers to engage through family events, our podcast, and resources designed for the whole family. Some programming specifically includes parent/child activities.
